How I think Jesus' story could have really happened

Posted by Gmac Webs on February 15, 2014 at 11:05 PM Comments comments (0)

(This I think captures part of the political and social styles (a very corrupt time) and also the mentality of the time (everyone wanting to be remembered and famous. Hence, statues and monuments etc).

Also, it is a more likely story based on a more logical and rational view of the time and how things could actually happen in reality (i.e: how it could happen today).)

A while before Jesus was born, people wanted to come up with, what was at the time, an undeniable story to help make their claims that their religion was "the truth" and so decided to come up with a "prophecy" that the "son of God" was to be born.

This had been passed down through the generations and finally, the time came.

The wise men who were selected to discover, who they could use to be the "son of God", set out to the "prophesied" location in order to execute the plan. They travelled to Bethlehem and began their search.

Meanwhile, 2 lovers accidentally conceived one night and knew if they had been discovered, they would be punished (out of wedlock child etc). So, they ran away. Then, the baby was coming. They had to find a discreet place to have the child, but time was running out.

Mary gave birth, but her screams had been heard by the passing wise men and they went to investigate. They found what they had been looking for - a needy, young family who could be in a lot of trouble. Perfect for their plan, as cooperation would be hard for them to deny.

They offered Mary and Joseph an alternative to a life on the run from authorities and bribed them into going along with their story. After all, Gold, Frankincense and Myrrh would be an unrefusable bribe to 2 homeless people on the run, and claim their child was the "son of God" was a better alternative to having a technically illegal child.

The wise men, whose name no doubt carried quite a lot of weight, managed to get the people to believe their story and so the child was known as "Jesus, the son of God".

As Jesus was growing up, the wise men taught him magic tricks which he could use if ever anyone questioned his title. As "flashy" magic (such as: healing wounds and water into wine) wasn't at all common and/or had only just been invented, it would be known only to a few, very rich people.

Jesus gathered a following, but his best friend was Judas. Jesus one day felt comfortable enough to tell Judas of his secret (him not actually being the "son of God") and Judas, at the time, was cool with it (supporting his buddy).

Over time, Judas began to realise what was going on and how Jesus was conning the people, and began to question his position (let it continue or stop it) and eventually, tried to stop it. Jesus probably caught wind of this and thought of an opportunity to exploit this and turn it for him by claiming it was a "prophecy".

Judas felt guilty about the con and told the Romans. The Romans subsequently arrested Jesus.

Before Jesus died, he struck a deal with the Romans. A deal something like: "if you pretend to kill me on the cross, I promise I will leave here and never return as the "son of God" (like a Roman "witness protection" programme). The Romans knew they couldn't exactly get away with killing him as it would cause rebellions and so, prefered Jesus' option.

Jesus spent only a few hours on the cross and feigned his death, so that it would appear that he had died when in reality, he was playing dead (or maybe even went into a stress-induced coma). The Romans cut him down and hid him in the cave until everyone had left the entrance.

The Romans opened the cave and arranged for him to leave under a new identity. Maybe, Jesus forgot something in the cave and went back for it, but he was spotted. He had to think fast and the Romans were in trouble (rebellions and riots etc). The Romans agreed that he could calm the people and claim that he would return one day.

This allowed Jesus to live, the wise men plan to continue and the Romans could have peace.

The cover-up was successful (no doubt the wise men paid a great many number of people off to ensure it was successful) and the wise men were free to write the events in their own way, so long as it kept roughly along the guidelines of what was documented, otherwise, it would be suspicious and too many people to silence would probably disbelieve their story and/or challenge them - in such a contest, the wise men would lose.

Overtime, the cover up was forgotten and people saw the Biblical account as how it happened.

The answer everyone has been waiting for.

People don't seem to understand the concept that there has to be an uncaused cause for us to be here. An atheist will say God needs a cause but with that logic the universe had a creator too. For every cause there is an effect. Cause and effect are the same thing. Something causes any cause making what the cause causes an effect. All causes are effects and all effects are causes. The and in cause and effect means one and one makes two, if that makes sense. If there was always a cause and effect with no uncaused cause, the universe would be infinitely old which would mean that an infinite amount of time had to pass to be here and that can't happen.

The uncaused cause had an effect. Now think about this, that means that the first effect had no cause. Now think of this, if you were in the store and wanted to buy a jacket, you did not cause the jacket to be bought, the jacket caused itself to be bought because it is real. It's a choice. Here's another example, if I flicked a trash bin, it moves, but I did not cause the trash bin to move, the trash been caused itself to move. It effected me to flick it without causing me to flick it. Whether God or the universe, there has to be an uncaused cause.

If you believe in aliens, which I don't know why wouldn't you, think about this, their world had to be created to sustain life, then life had to form, then if evolution were true, it had to become complex, then there had to be mass extinctions and then after finally getting it right, an intelligent civilization formed, then they had to become an advanced civilization all in the time frame that we've been here, then they had to find us among the entire universe but even then the light from earth showing there is intelligence here and our transmissions to space wouldn't reach them possibly to find us.

3.85 billion years ago the earth was bombared by celestial bodies to the point lava formed all around the planet. It took fifty million years for the earth to cool for life to form but fifty million years after the bombaredment started there was already life. So the notion it took a billion years or so for life to form is wrong. There never was a prebiotic earth because the scales or records show us it has always been postbiotic. Life could have came from intersteller gass clouds. The problem however is there is no water or ammonia and without water and ammonia there is no origin of life. Life could have came from a rock from another star system. The problem however is x-ray and uv light would distroy rna and dna, the rock would heat up as it entered the earths atmosphere and the earth recieves a rock from another planetary system every 10 to 16th power years which is a billion times longer than the age of the universe. And think of the chances a rock that happened to come from another planetary system carrying life would hit earth. Even if it could, how did life originate in that planetary system? Origin of life researchers have already given up the idea of life forming on earth to solve the homochirality problem. They have already given up life coming to earth by a disant star. They have already given up life coming from dense intersteller gass clouds.

My theory that aliens predate the universe is more believable and even if that happened, the fact that the universe created two intelligent civilizations that look similar suggests that the universe knows what it is doing and that intelligence is behind it meaning God would exist.

Time does not exist. I don't mean space time because it's different and I don't have to explain why. The present moves into the past. It also moves into the future! How can there be a past between the past and present when there is not a past to the future because the present always moves into the future? Infinity has an end and beginning. It's not that hard to grasp. It ends with all numbers and begins with all numbers. So you can put time on a scale. The closer you get to the end the less future there is to go through. Go all the way back to the beginning and before the universe started, before time, it had a future.

You might not understand this but five minutes ago is happening now and five minutes from now is happening now so what you do now causes the butterfly effect and that's why. We just haven got to now or have past it but is always now. That's destiny. An atheist can't say the universe wasn't meant to be this way because scientifically we are here, it's cause and effect. Already must they say it was meant to be.

Another thing an atheist must say is they can never die. If I say I am alive in the year 3000, it wouldn't actually mean I am so how do I know I am alive now? Besides just because you call an apple an apple doesn't mean it's an apple because it's just a word. So if I can't know I am alive now, how can I ever die?

Side note, a condition for if God exists is if he had thought of it all, he would see all of it from beginning to end. He would see it all in an instant and time would be simultaneous as it is.

Everything that you think of does not exist, it's just your interpretation of it. You think you calling an apple an apple makes it an apple? The only way we can say anything exists, is to say our thoughts exist but if we say our thoughts exist everything outside of them does not exist, although, our thoughts wouldn't exist without the what is outside existing. The only conclusion is that everything in the universe is made of thought. Thought makes reality so reality is made of thought. After all how are you made of the universe, you be intelligent and the material you're made of not have intelligence? I know the stupidest thing that is half thought out someone would say, neural connections. One Lego block does not cause consciousness, it's like trying to say a bunch of Lego blocks created sophistication such as intelligence.

How did your eyes and ears develop to hear and see if they did not already know what light and sound looked and sounded like? Tell me there's a multiverse. Still doesn't explain how life was made. You can say cells got conditioned by stimuli then reacted to it but then think about this, if every time you pressed a button I slapped you, you would have to be intelligent to be conditioned to know that every time you press that button, I slapped you. Don't tell me it is all because natural selection and random mutation because there would be fewer creatures adapted to the environment and more creatures not adapted to the environment. That still does not explain how random mutation can get an eye ball right to see light. That's like random mutation, boom, now an eye sees light. Natural selection doesn't explain why it was a surviving trait. The creatures that couldn't see survived alright, all the sudden a creature can see light and not that intelligent organisms mate with it because it was helpful to survival? Doubtful.

If I'm making sense, that's because I am. If you say a rock doesn't have intelligence like someone else said to me, I will tell you maybe the isn't intelligent but the material it is made of is. If you tell me random chance and natural selection was why you hear and see, I will tell you then natural selection is biased for improvement which proves that the universe is intelligent.

Think of this, one in a billion chance of being hit by an asteroid right now give us a 100% likelihood that it will happen. To explain think about it, even the smallest chance does not mean it will not happen. Now think about this, there are an infinite amount of possible possibilities in our universe. That means that there are an infinite amount of reasons that we should not be here right now! Why are we on the side of infinity that we survive? Intelligence.

On days a disaster happens there is far less people one that one day and I don't mean after. If you look at the number of people on board the planes that struck the twin towers and trains on which was on coarse with another train, you will see there are less people. DNA recognizes similar DNA telepathically without any interaction between the two. You can teach monkeys of one island how to do a task and go to another island and it take far less time to teach them the same task because of mass consciousness. It's not that hard to believe, we know scientifically quantum entanglement can happen. you can show people a picture of a bunch of faces and they just count 9, but go to another country and show everyone every face in the picture while shutting down the network so only that one country sees then in the original country you go back to people start counting 30 faces. you can hook a plant up to a polygraph and it responds like a human. Then you have a person and plant on the polygraph. Then show a movie and watch how as the person's brain waves change so does the plants in the same way. Water has consciousness. Masaru Emoto has discovered it. I know more on this topic but moving on. People with organ transplants develop the same habits the original owners of organs had. Twins know what happens to each other on different sides of the earth. A blind man makes micro expressions unconsciously when shown a picture of an emotion. A young boy once ate salt repeatedly. Doctors of the little boy prevented him from eating any more salt. Later the boy died. An autopsty showed the boy had a condition where if he didn't eat enough salt he would die. How did the kid know to eat salt? Here's one, the double slit expirement. If particles behave differently around a conscious observer doesn't prove to you that our universe is intelligent, nothing will. What I am doing is not proving God but simply proving what we are made of is intelligent and I think we can all agree on that.

why does a story disprove the existence of God to so many people? Seriously cause that is the only thing that can be keeping you from believing. All science does is answer how and all religion tries to do is answer why. Science simply does not go where religion goes. All atheists have to cling to, to assert their belief, is the story of humans. If that's the only thing stopping you, I suggest rethinking your beliefs.

Think of this, God never had to think of the universe. He's all knowing, he would not have to think. I have this thing. It's a very strange ability. The best words to describe it is quantum entanglement but I have no idea how it works. Every moment in my entire life I have lived in a dream before. At this very moment I simply remember this from my dream.

I was ten when it all started. I saw the number 14 on an orange background next to a window frame and porch light as I awoke. I couldn't understand why this happened, it was so detailed. Seven years later standing outside my girlfriend's house I looked up and there it was. I have so many things to say about it. I know just by looking at a person my impact on their life. I can know the future but I dread doing so since just by knowing means it won't happen the same. If I here a story, I relive another person's experience. I can see myself through other people's eyes. I can see nearly anywhere I choose outside my body. Sometimes as I perambulate, walk, through my house I see myself through the walls and it seems it feels empty. I see it all. X-ray vision as a person explained being able to see in the fourth dimension is different than seeing through. You don't see through objects, you see inside of them. In a video game playing with other players I see my player through the other player's screen. I see eternity which is very vast. More of what I see will be explained later.

I don't try to say the bible is factual because it was written in a dead language for one by man which can misinterpret things even coming from the mouth of God but also was changed by the church which was corrupted by profit centuries ago. Whether what the bible says is right or not does not discredit my conclusion. Here is what evidence there is for God, psychics, Ouija boards, shadow people, they're not ghosts, I saw one but didn't think it was real except leaves moved beneath, search shadow people, ghosts, destiny, near death experiences.

I say the Ouija board because it told me the name of a girl I would marry, when we would meet and the names of two boys she would cheat on me with,10 years later I forgot about it and it happens just as I was told except had it not told me, I would still be with her, I found her in the bathroom with one boy and the other told me they do it all the time.

Christianity answers why we are here. Other religions had answers science can answer. Science does not know the answer why we're here and never will if God is separate from his creation. Think about it. Other religions believed there were Gods in our universe like the moon or sun which science showed why sacrificing to the sun God did not mean crops would grow. In christianity however, God is outside the universe, made all that and has no further connections unless he changes time due to prayer because it has been prerecorded and not an on the spot decision . There would have to be a reason that sets christianity apart.

Search debunking evolution. I have my own problems with evolution such as dinosaurs lived 165 million years and there were estimated 900 species we are aware of and an estimated 700 to 900 more we don't know of, these are not random numbers I pull from a hat, mammals exploded around 65 million years ago and already has 4,500 species. That is a lot of diversifying in a short time. Did all the organisms of a certain species decide to all evolve at once into the same new species over millions of years or did it happen faster because there is no fossil record of any half something half something else but then the evolution happens and the organism doesn't have anything to mate with because it can't cross species?

Evolution doesn't mean there is no God. The man that made the big bang theory was Christian and the big bang certainly goes against the bible. People could have just added evolution to there understanding of how God works but for some reason it meant there was no God.

There is no logical excuse why you are atheist. You can know everything of the universe but if there was something outside the universe that made the universe, then even if you know everything about the universe, you wouldn't know why that being made it. Science can't answer the philosophical why. The universe has no answers to give. What makes the atheist assume science has all the answers? What better reason will science have? A man made enigma perhaps.

For evolution to be true particles have to have intelligence to evolve. and I'm talking about the evolution where creatures evolve to survive. Does a creature adapt to survive if particles don't know they need to evolve? In a universe of no intelligence there is intelligence. Think about it.

Here's one, by random chance do you think it would have been possible to be a single celled organsim that develops into a complex life? Sure a single cell is complex but a human is more complex. It would be more believable for random chance to appear complex life first, stay that way, develop down into simple life or stay simple life than going from simple to complex. The universe is intelligent.

My book explains three things, God says he's thought, the books will be opened and he was dead and then he live. I don't see why people say he always was, it says right there in revelations. Keep that in mind for a second. I have seen the beginning. The alien's universe had a whelm made of nothing but thought. They hated it. All knew what each was thinking and one could never be nonexistent as they existed as a thought. Basically they chose to live or die. They wished to see what life was really like. They made the thought of God. They wrote books detailing his knowledge. When they thought of him he existed. They made the big bang. I was there. As a thought that is.

My teacher had an award for the most knowledge in history of history. Even he said out right that how life started was atoms started making associations so I know with this and all the evidence that this universe is intelligent. He said aliens dropped him here. I thought he was joking. Three months go by and he said again aliens dropped him off here. He likes the dessert and has driven over 500,000 miles. No one does that. He told me time doesn't exist and life creates life. strange. With my ability I saw them same aliens make a baby in the dessert, drop him off behind a green car a man had to change the tire on. He was around 50 when he was my teacher and I saw an old car from the sixties. Later I saw him picked up by those aliens and taken back to the same place I saw them write the books. That teacher no longer works at that school and I don't know where he is. If my theory is true, they would have known that car was going to be there and they might have done it so to have a piece of their creation that knows all our history.

More about the things I have seen. I have been in countless people's bodies through history in fragments of their lives. I have seen there are not two places, a heaven and a hell, there are three, one for the good people, one for the really good people and one for the really bad people. You don't have to believe to go to heaven, you just won't be in the part of heaven with God. Sin is not paid out in hell, it is paid out in a strange whelm. The more sin, the longer you stay. Everyone leaves heaven and hell to go there and after this there is a new earth which is paradise just like the bible says after judgment. The reason it is paradise is because you have already lived and are given a second chance to change who you are if that makes sense. There will be a tree of life. All sensory experience is held within its branches. After death while in heaven you will see a person's entire life just by looking at them. You see them as an energy orb while at the same time a physical person. I believe what I see because I see that as a moment passes so does the history the aliens have written and so does the memory I share with an individual in the afterlife. My book is placed on the right a shelf below the top. If God showed you what you had to go through to go to paradise, would you take it? It's not so bad, you will endure anything for a good cause I suppose.

Reincarnation was taken out of the bible by the church. After death when this process stops will you have the whole picture of you. Some go through more than others. I have heard a story of a man under hypnosis talking about his previous life. I saw him and that life but reincarnation is not my strong suit. I don't understand it well so don't take my word for it.

A psychic told me I was going to do great things, now here I am writing a book. Do we know we exist? No, that is the answer if thought does not specifically exist. How do you tell the difference between a dream and reality? Thought. Theists don't have to prove other Gods aren't real. Just proving God is real proves all others unreal. Even if you proved all other Gods wrong, you would still have to prove the one God is real.

How I think the universe was created (REPOST)

Posted by Gmac Webs on July 1, 2013 at 3:30 PM Comments comments (0)

(Repost of this)

I think I have got the answer to a question that has plagued science since science was given freedom from the religious repression back in... Well, whenever it was. I came up with this idea on 25th of November 2012 at about 11:30 AM while not even thinking about it. It simply came to me.

First, I will start by saying, I have genuinely NO idea how the universe was really created, this is pure speculation, however, I do believe that it is 1 POSSIBLE answer to how the universe COULD have been created. Hear me out! Also, I would like to add that this doesn't involve a god and that I will be using me, frankly, limited knowledge of science in the best way I can to deliver the best answer I can give.

What is my hypothesis?

Well, let's start by splitting the universe into 2 sections. 1: Spatial (Space, Energies etc) and 2: Celestial (Stars, Planets etc). The spatial universe may not have needed a creation at all, as space can't be created (unless something is shrunk) and therefore, space is exempt of a fixed size and shape. The celestial universe could have been created by the culmination of gasses moved around by the energies and collided, creating a star which created other celestial objects.

My explanations:

1 (Spatial universe): if you have a 10ft³ room with a 1 ft³ box inside the room. I then remove that box from the room. Have I created space? No. I have created space within that room, however, I haven't created space, as the box has only moved from 1 area to another, adding space in 1 room, but cancelling that out by removing space in another - so, therefore, no space created. Now, space is a constant and therefore is exempt of a fixed shape and size. Example, if I were to put my hand in front of my eyes, the space between my eyes and the nearest object is reduced, however, if I were to move my hand away, the space between my eyes and the nearest object would be larger. Therefore, space has no fixed size. If I were to make a hollow ball, there would be space within the ball (spherical) however, the space within the room would be cubular or rectangular. Therefore, space is exempt of a fixed shape too.

2 (Celestial universe): If you look at a nebula (the beginnings of a star) you'll see that they're basically gasses mixing together to form the star. These gasses begin to intermingle and then eventually create more energy (besides the presently stored and surrounding energy) and then formed a star. Once this star is shining bright, it changes the gravitational forces in the surrounding area moving the energies and gasses onto a different path and into others. Once a large star dies, there is a Nova or Supernova (basically, a massive explosion). The shards of star that get thrusted into space eventually cool, creating a comet over time, or if they get caught up into the gravitational pull or a "living" star, then becomes an asteroid. Once enough asteroids have collided, that can create a planet (from this planet can come the necessary "ingredients" for life).

So, to conclude, I hope that made sense and I hope you enjoyed reading at least. Remember, this is my hypothesis and it is based on facts, however, I do not claim that this is the genuine reason. If it is correct, then I would be astounded and will be able to say "Mrs. Barnes! Am I still "dumb"?" and enjoy the moment. If not, then at least it is better than saying "God did it, it says so in a book, end of", right?

Thank you for reading my blog, I may post some more soon. I hope you enjoyed it and I hope it at least gave you something to think about. Please comment and let me know what you think.

The Games

*WARNING: This story contains graphic language of a gory nature. Not suitable for people with a nervous disposition.*

You know that one event you look forward to every year? Most people have one; my family and I share one which is fairly common: the Superbowl. Every year we crowd around our big screen TV with snacks, gazing intently from start to finish, not leaving our seats through even the commercials.

Just one year did we happen to miss it. And let me tell you, it was for a damn good reason...

"Lost children on milk cartons always depress me," my uncle said between the crunch-crunch-crunch of a mouthful of cornflakes. My mother - his older sister - scolded him for talking with his mouth full. He was in town for the game, of course; it was a huge event for us, and not just the immediate family. We invited our friends, distant family, even a few people we barely knew around the neighborhood. This year, a new family had moved in next door, and it wasn't long until my father went boasting about our game day celebration, and eventually invited them over.

The family seemed like a fine group of people... All but their teenage daughter. There was something haunting about her. And not her appearance; she wasn't a dark and brooding goth-style girl, she was a fairly plain looking blonde-haired blue-eyed teenager. At a glance, she didn't seem out of the ordinary at all. But after you looked long enough, it just... It didn't seem right. She was TOO plain, TOO ordinary, it didn't seem right to look at her, and eventually it got painful to the point where I just had to turn away. And I can tell you right now, it wasn't just me. I noticed it in everyone, even her own family. It made me uneasy, to say the least.

Game day finally came... And it was unlike any game day we'd had before. Everyone arrived early, which was typical. The whole family was there; aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents, from both sides of the family, most of whom we only saw this day. Some close friends were here, some neighbors, and of course the new family... and the girl. Just before kickoff, the lights flickered. We thought nothing of it, until it happened again. My dad got up and left the room, declaring he was going to make sure everything was alright with the fuse box. Nobody wanted our tradition ruined, least of all him. The girl followed him a few moments after he'd left the room. Nobody seemed to notice but me, and, I can't really put my finger on it, but something about the look in her eyes made me worry. I was frightened. Too frightened to follow them, so I stayed put. That is, until the lights went out entirely, along with the rest of the power. Everyone began murmuring impatiently, my mother joking "This is what we get for trusting my husband to a blown fuse." After the power hadn't come back on for a few moments, coupled with my father still not returning, people started to get worried. "Maybe he electrocuted himself?" I heard someone say. My uncle decided to go and see if everything was alright, and I went with him, though I wasn't sure why... I hadn't seen or heard from the strange girl since she left after my father, and I felt sure she had something to do with this. We took a flashlight and made our way down to the basement... And the sight that greeted us made my heart stop momentarily. The stairs were slick with blood. At first I thought my father had fallen and bashed his head, but at the foot of the stairs there was nothing but a trail of blood leading to a corner cluttered with old broken furniture. My uncle started lifting things out of the way, and I'm sure he was as confused as I was, but I followed his lead. Beneath an old, torn up couch, I found my father's body, his chest torn open. Not just sliced through; the flesh was ripped off, as if some beast had torn into him with sickly sharp talons, leaving his rib cage bare. The sickest thing was his heart was still beating. I noticed my uncle had stopped lifting, and I guessed he'd looked over and was as speechless as me. Turning around, at first I saw nothing; then, leading the flashlight across the room, I saw a hunched over figure... a figure with long blonde hair flowing down her back. I nearly threw up; she didn't seem so plain now, tearing into my uncle with inhuman strength. She turned to me, grinning wickedly. "W..why?" I managed to gasp, weakly, as she approached. She seemed confused by the question, tilting her head as if considering it for a moment. "You need a reason?" she asked, her voice like nails on a chalkboard. Her next utterance has never left my mind, and probably won't until the day I die. "Read the first word of every paragraph."

Voices

Have you ever "heard things"? You know what I'm talking about? You think you hear something, but you never did? Like when you are in the shower, and you think you hear someone calling out, but there is no one there? Or you are at a party, and you hear your name?

Oh, no thats not some trick of the brain. If only it were.

No, that voice belongs to death himself. Always calling, hoping you will respond, hoping you will follow. I know that if you ignore it, continue to shrug it off as a figment of your imagination, you'll be fine. But if you call out to see who is downstairs, or if you go looking for whoever said your name at that party... well... some things are best left a mystery.

Music theory

Music what makes it what it is?

Well, music is a combination of sound vibrations that come together to make what we know to be music but it can be used for many different things; like a jackhammer uses sound to break up dirt and stone. Well we have learned that we can use those sounds to create music and destroy many things just by using sound waves. These sound waves should be used for good not evil so stop destroying the earth and use it for good thing like making music and happiness.

Part 4 of 4: Paranormal history

Posted by Gmac Webs on February 9, 2013 at 6:00 PM Comments comments (0)

In this 4 part blog, I will spend each one talking about perfectly feasible, reasonable and rational explanations in to some paranormal events.

Part 4 of 4: Paranormal history. (Don't be put off by the word "history", this actually gets pretty readable.)

I will explain the history behind each subject in this 4 part blog.

Part 1: Ghost history. Ghosts and spirits have been around since the early Egyptians. The actual term "ghost" was only attributed to an apparition in the early 1700's where one of the first sightings was recorded (I know only bits about the story, but not enough to put here.). The publicity of this event took the world by storm and sparked the imagination of people world wide (much like the UFO sightings of the 1950-60's, but as there was only eye-witness accounts available linked to ghosts, they were harder to disprove and therefore had to be accepted as true.) There are many explanations into why people think there's ghosts and to why they see them. Ghosts, as I have explained in part 1 are mostly eyes playing tricks on you. The reason why people link this to ghosts is because it is unexplained and humans are all scared of the unexplained and what we don't know. This is proven by simply knowing about something can make you less afraid. For example, knowing something can't hurt you will usually make you approach it with less fear. Not knowing will make you cautious or even not approach it at all. We claim these things are ghosts because it allows us to make something known, therefore, allowing us to have it explained so we don't fear it.

Part 2: Seances and other "spiritual" phenomena history. This is an attempt to contact the dead and get them to perform acts for our amusement/entertainment or as proof of existence, though in part 2, you can read how they're psychological and not actually spirit contact. This started around the late 18th century and was one of the first ways people spoke to the dead (After this came physical contact such as possessions). This came popular around the same time as Mediums, but took more of a back seat as contact with the dead via person-spirit means was much more exciting for the people. This lost its popularity at around the same time as Mediumship, but due to it being slightly less popular, didn't fall quite so badly. Seances and Ouija boards had spent much of its time in the background of Spiritual contact until T.V's 'Most Haunted' (2002-11) brought its popularity back and made it popular. Though this was only for a short time as scientific advances had found out about Ideomotor suggestion and the sceptics among their audience had found out and put it on the internet, thus, breaking the illusion with fact. Also, the actions of Dr. Ciarán O'Keeffe in one of the earlier seasons, proved this was ideomotor suggestion by getting the people to look away while the ghost was spelling their name. The letters the cup went to were correct in quantity, but made no sense. (I did a similar thing as mentioned in part 2).

Part 3: Mediumship and psychism history. Mediumship (as we know it today) started in the early-19th century and became most popular in the mid-late-19th century, though, talking to the dead has gone back right through recorded human history. One of the first accounts of a modern medium calling on the spirits of the dead was a little girl and her sister. They had used the idea that they were talking to a spirit and rigged some items to move in order to get some of the things they wanted. This got the people interested in mediumship and provoked the world wide fascination with talking to the dead (the methods they used are still being taught today). Some years later, they finally admitted that they were fraudulent and had made the whole thing up, but by that time, too many people had found out about it and it was too wide spread that it was accepted as fact, and their honesty was largely ignored. The mediumship and psychism used today is based on psychology, as I mentioned in part 3. It was after the discovery of fraudulent mediums in the 1960's that mediumship began to deteriorate and become less popular as the methods used were discovered and some made public, therefore, bringing the answers and scepticism known today. However, Spitiualism remained strong and Spiritualist churches became more common as people like the idea of "channelling" became more popular, even though it is explainable by psychological means, none of which are spiritual.

This was the general history of the paranormal events, I hope you weren't to bored and were able to understand what I was trying to say.

Part 3 of 4: Mediums and Mysticism/Psychism.

In this 4 part blog, I will spend each one talking about perfectly feasible, reasonable and rational explanations in to some paranormal events.

Part 3 of 4: Mediums and Mysticism/Psychism.

This blog will tell you about Mediumship and other spiritualist things and explain how they're done. There is a perfectly valid reason that is not linked to spirits and, if you listen carefully, you'll see that Mediums actually use this psychological method which involves no ghosts.

Psychic readings. There two types. Group and independent. They both run on this principal. This is done quite simply but does need a few years of practice. You can tell a lot about someone simply by the way they look. For example, if you're wearing a plain T-shirt and trousers, you're likely to be a fairly introverted person maybe with anxiety problems. The clothing you wear can tell a lot about a person. Mediums "contact the dead" of your family simply by looking at you. If they say "Its your Granddad. His name begins with a "J"?" That will trigger an automatic response leading you to answer "Yes. It was James" for example. The other information will come from you as they will ask things and, as it is a natural response, you will answer them. For example, if they say "You were close?" You may reply "Yeah, we would..." and so on therefore giving the Medium information that they will later mention, but they way they lay it out it would seem as though they got it from the spirit when in reality, they're just memorising it for a time where you are not focusing on it. You may also notice that they repeat something. This is a common tactic that can speed up you forgetting about something you just said so that they can use what you just said and claim it as a spirit.

The other form of psychism is the location readings. This is where the Mediums will turn up to a building and then gather as much information on the ghosts as possible via the spirits that haunt that place. This is done by the Medium learning the locations history and then link the ghosts of the building to what they feel. For example, if you went into a dark room your psychology will react by wanting you to leave immediately. Humans are afraid of what's unseen in the dark. Your psychology will then switch to your flight* mode and you'll want to leave. (*your psychology has 2 modes that it uses when in trouble. 1 is "Fight" the second is "Flight". 'Google' search: "Fight or Flight"). If you force yourself to stay even when your psychology is saying "run" your mind will try and make you leave, so your fear may bring you to imagine something is there as soon as there is a floorboard moving etc. The other one is, if you're in a room and you heard there was a ghost, you may get a certain feeling that you're being watched. That feeling would normally be ignored by most people, but Mediums are taught to go with it. It is this feeling that is linked to their knowledge of the place they're in and allows them to link that feeling of something over their with a potential ghost. They will then try to imagine what that person felt like based on what they know or what they were like. This will allow them to seemingly accurately get what the spirit is like via "talking" to the spirits. Most Psychics would deny this but it is actually the way they do this but when learning this technique, they're usually taught that the subconscious is the spirit's way of communication when it isn't.

So, as you can see, most of Mediumship is unconscious or conscious psychology linked together to create the alleged psychic abilities. Mediumship is basically a form of psychology that is linking knowledge and paranoia that is affiliated with the locations, and turning that into something that is called "spiritualism" when it is in fact another form of psychology. Only intentionally or unintentionally fraudulent.

Part 2 of 4: Seance, Ouija boards and other "paranormal forces".

Posted by Gmac Webs on February 7, 2013 at 12:50 PM Comments comments (0)

In this 4 part blog, I will spend each one talking about perfectly feasible, reasonable and rational explanations in to some paranormal events.

Part 2 of 4: Seance, Ouija boards and other "paranormal forces".

This part will tell you about Seances, Ouija boards and Table tipping and how there is a highly valid and realistic psychological answer to how these aren't actually spirits or ghosts contacting us at all.

These phenomena can be explained by Ideomotor suggestion. Ideomotor suggestion is a psychological phenomenon where a subject makes unconscious movements of a certain part of the body. Like the body reacting to pain, the body sometimes reacts reflexively to suggestion alone without the person consciously deciding to take action. For instance, tears are produced by the body unconsciously in reaction to powerful emotions. The effects of automatic writing, dowsing, facilitated communication, and Ouija boards have been attributed to the phenomenon. Mystics and psychics have often attributed these effects to paranormal or supernatural force which is, as far as the evidential psychology goes, untrue.

Seances and Ouija boards: This is done by a person in the room suggesting the cup should move. If you have taken part in a seance or have observed a seance (TV's Most Haunted is a good example), you will see 3 things. 1. The Medium needs to be present. 2. They say "If there's anyone present, move the glass". And 3. The glass will move to the letters of the spirit's name if 1 or more people in the room knows it. The reason why a Mediums needs to be present is because the Medium knows what to say in order to bring these alleged spirits to move the glass. If you listen to what they say, you'll hear the Mediums say something along the lines of "If there are any spirits present, please make your self known. Move the glass.". The words "Move the glass." is a command and will act on the subconscious of the people around the table and eventually, they will move the glass. Also, sometimes it is not uncommon for the Medium to move the glass first in order to get the action going. There is always at least one person who knows who the alleged ghost is. This is because the Medium has found the name before or during the seance and this will help the group get the letters of the ghosts name. The more people in the seance, the more chance there is of the group getting the cup moving faster as there is the higher chance of someone being susceptible enough. The other way this works is that someone will hear the command "Move the cup." and they will move it subconsciously, and then someone will feel that and subconsciously move it in the direction after being told to "Go with it, don't resist the cups direction". This is the reason why the cup can be moving for some time without stopping until someone asks "Can you spell your name?" and then the glass will spell out the name. The more people who know the name, the faster this will be.

There is a way of proving that ghosts do not effect the Seances or Ouija boards. If you get the people in the room to all look away from the board, you'll see that once asked to spell the name, they will usually have the right number of letters, but the wrong letters. For example, when I did this with some friends, they spelt "Alan" while looking. When they looked away, they spelt "GLHR". When talking to a Medium as to how the Spirit forgot it's name and spelt nothing, he relied with "The ghosts use your eyes to see what they're writing." When I asked him "If they need your eyes to see what they're writing, why is it that they can see us?". He didn't reply.

Other "paranormal forces" run on a similar method. Basically, there is the suggestion that something near by and so the person will acknowledge an object in the room that they think may be linked to the spirit, and that will cause them to subconsciously go towards it.

As you should now be able to see, most of these "paranormal" events can be easily explained via proven, reliable and rational psychological means and in my honest opinion, there is no such thing as "ghosts" or "spirits" because when ever there is a claim of one, there is always a perfectly reliable psychological explanation (anything from "Person faked it for attention" to "Ideomotor suggestion".)
